Job Overview

Top Notch Personnel is recruiting a Life Skills Facilitator for a community-focused organization serving youth throughout Huerfano and Las Animas Counties.

This position focuses on delivering school-based prevention and positive youth development programs to elementary, middle, and high school students. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young people, has strong communication skills, and is passionate about helping students develop the skills needed to make healthy, positive life choices.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate educational programming with schools, teachers, and community partners.
Deliver approved prevention curricula, including Botvin LifeSkills Training (LST), Wise Owl, and Positive Action.
Prepare curriculum materials and provide engaging, age-appropriate classroom instruction.
Maintain program quality and follow established curriculum guidelines.
Track attendance, participation, surveys, and program outcomes.
Complete required documentation and assist with grant reporting.
Participate in required training, meetings, and professional development.
Travel to schools and program locations throughout Huerfano and Las Animas Counties.

Compensation & Benefits:

Annual salary of $40,000–$50,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working with youth, teaching, facilitating groups, or delivering community-based programs.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with schools, teachers, and community partners.

  • Comfortable working with elementary, middle, and high school students.

  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and virtual meeting platforms.

  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance.

  • Ability to travel regularly throughout Huerfano and Las Animas Counties.

  • Willingness and ability to complete required curriculum training after hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, public health, behavioral or social sciences, human services, or a related field.

  • Two years of relevant professional experience.

  • Experience delivering evidence-based prevention or educational programs.

  • Experience working with schools, youth-serving organizations, or community outreach programs.

  • Familiarity with program evaluation, grant documentation, or reporting requirements.

  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or Certified in Public Health (CPH) credential preferred but not required.
